PCCD Now Accepting Nominations for the Governor’s Victim Service Pathfinder Awards

Harrisburg, PA. — The Office of Victim Services under the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency announced today that submissions are being accepted for the 2018 Governor’s Victim Service Pathfinder Awards, which recognizes individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond in their efforts with the victims of crime.

A Governor’s Victim Service Pathfinder Award is the most prestigious award that Pennsylvania gives to a victim service professional or program.  There are eight possible award categories for individuals, and one award to recognize the efforts of a service program.

Pathfinder nominations are made via an electronic submission process, which can be found on the 2018 Governor's Victim Service Pathfinder Awards website.  Nominators are encouraged to review the Nomination Submission and Award Criteria and Eligibility Guidelines for more information on the types of awards available and the nomination process.

Each nomination, in addition to addressing all criteria under the award category, must explain how the nominee has:

  • Contributed efforts to the victim services field that are unique, exceptional, or go beyond their job duties;
  • Demonstrated leadership or teamwork in achieving these efforts; and
  • Brought about change for victims or the victim services field that is or will be enduring.

2018 award recipients will be presented with their award at an event of the nominator’s and winner’s preference in their own community.  A representative from PCCD or the Victims’ Services Advisory Committee will present the award.

For questions regarding the nomination process, please contact Heather Hewitt at hhewitt@pa.gov or 717-265-8730.

Our Mission is to enhance the quality, coordination and planning within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, to facilitate the delivery of services to victims of crime, and to increase the safety of our communities.
