School Safety and Security Grants Program
The School Safety and Security Grants Program was established in 2018 to provide for school entities of the Commonwealth to be safer places for students, staff and visitors. School entities that are eligible to submit applications are defined as, a school district, intermediate unit, area career and technical school, charter school, cyber charter school, regional charter school, approved private school, chartered school for the education of the deaf or the blind or private residential rehabilitative institution.
The School Safety and Security Fund was established in the State Treasury to provide ongoing support to schools for safety and security purposes. Funding, eligible activities and items are determined on an annual basis. Funding Announcements are posted on PCCD's website and released upon annual determination. Please submit any questions regarding the grant program or any safety related questions to, RA-CD-SSSC@pa.gov.
Note: Due to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19, Act 30 of 2020 set aside funding for school entities (i.e., school districts, , area career and technical schools, intermediate units, charter schools, regional charter schools and cyber charter schools) for COVID-19 Disaster Emergency School Health and Safety Grants.
