Welcome to the site of the Office of Safe Schools Advocate (OSSA) for the School District of Philadelphia. Students encounter being bullied, harassed, assaulted or threatened on their way to and from, or while at school. The number one priority of OSSA is to ensure that students and families have a place to turn to get assistance and support when these issues occur.
As your Advocate, there are many things we can do to help you. Beyond providing information on available victims' support services, we can – when requested by you – represent you at disciplinary hearings. As a victim of school violence, you have rights and the Office of Safe Schools Advocate (OSSA) is here to protect them.
We are conveniently located in the School District Educational Center (Suite #1198) and open 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. (If you leave a voicemail message after these hours or on the weekend, it will be returned the next business day.) The hotline number is 1-877-730-6315.
Please know that we are honored to have the opportunity to be entrusted with helping you. Our staff stands ready to assist. We look forward to helping to promote a learning environment where students and staff are safe.
